The Charles M. Nelson Humanitarian Scholarship is presented by Nelson Funeral Service, Inc. to a student of good moral character who exhibits the quality of love and support for their fellow man. It is a scholarship not awarded on the sole basis of outstanding grades or athletic achievement, but rather as a helping hand to offset expenses other than tuition. The amount of $500.00 is given directly to the student to use for books, school supplies or other incidentals they may deem necessary to begin their college experience. It is a reflection of the way that Charles M. Nelson was always ready to lend assistance whenever needed. The 2007 Berryville recepient was Charity Edwards and Green Forest was Sarah Griffis . |
